I met the Schneider family at a beautiful park in Long Grove for their super fun, incredibly happy extended family session. Typically with extended family sessions I begin with the immediate family first. This gives us the chance to get to know each other without any distractions. We had a blast exploring the area by climbing, jumping, running across the bridge, and even licking rock. Toddlers can be ridiculous, but it sure have us some good laughs.
It is always my underlying goal with each and every session to tell your story… the story of YOUR family. I want to capture what makes you smile and those little silly things you all do together. By documenting these moments, not only do we tell the story of you, but we also grab and hold on to those little fleeting moments that you don’t want to forget about (thumb sucking, hair twirling, and yes, even rock licking). 😉
After we had some fun, we brought Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle in for some more giggles. If you know me, you know that I don’t do “staged” and “formal.” I will most definitely capture the “grandparent shot,” you know, the one where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling. I will also capture all of those goofy moments just before and after that shot. Because THOSE are the moments that truly tell who you are and the relationship you have with each other. The Schneider family is clearly one very happy bunch. I loved telling their story, capturing their joy, and holding on to them “the way they are supposed to be.” (This one is for you, Grandma, because it still makes me laugh!)
