sneak peek: it worked! [chicago family photographer]

Scheduling outdoor sessions in the Midwest can obviously be full of challenges- and you never know exactly what you are going to get, and I am pretty sure that we could not have gotten any luckier this weekend.   A sprinkling of rain caused a few reschedules, but every session was able to be outside (for at least a portion of it), without coats!  And, to further prove just how lucky we were- the next day was 35 degrees with frost on the ground.  Weather was not the only reason I felt totally lucky this weekend- I had another full weekend of fabulous sessions with incredible families!   Now, on to the sneak peeks…

Could this little girl be any cuter?   If your answer is “no,” then you are correct.   She has the most contagious smile and laugh, combined with that little twinkle in her eyes.   I literally had to remind myself to pick up the camera because I just wanted to put it down and cuddle with her all day!  Lucky for her, she got plenty of cuddles with Mom and Dad.   I had to share this image because it just makes me smile-  every time she broke into a big grin, her tongue came right out.   So cute!

If you click here, you might remember this adorable family from our session last year.  Well, this year we went a little bit outside of the box with a session that I’ve wanted to do for quite a while.    I know this family loves spending weekend time together, making breakfast, and hanging out in jammies.  So, when I suggested that for a session, I was thrilled when they took me up on the idea.   I mean, does it get any better than capturing images of your family doing one of your favorite things together?   This image epitomizes a lifestyle session to me… and afterwards, they got dressed and spent some time outside together.   But, this image is perfection to me- hanging out, in pj’s, and enjoying each other!

The weather for this mini session could not have been any more perfect.   I mean, 65/70 degrees, in November, in Chicago??  We even ventured down to the beach to throw some rocks.   Little bro ended up pretty much soaked and covered in sand, which provided a few laughs for everyone.   This family was full of energy and we played games from start to finish.   Such a great morning!

By the time we had this session, the weather seemed a bit questionable… dark, black clouds rolling in over the city.  But again, we got lucky and the rain  held off until literally minutes after I drove away.  I loved Mom’s vision for this session:  “Want a laid back environment to capture our natural family moments to showcase everyone’s (big) personalities.”  And, looking at this image, I’d say we did just that 🙂
