One year ago today, my nephew was born. You may remember his newborn photo session when you click here. As I reread the blog post from last year, it stands out to me that my sentiments have only grown stronger… I feel so incredibly lucky to be his aunt. Even though he lives across the country (way too far in my opinion), I got to spend this past weekend soaking him up. My sister and I joked that because we look and sound alike and often say bizarre things in the exact same way (I mean really, who else pulls down the wrapper on a Blow Pop so that it somewhat resembles a cape, pretends to fly it across the room, and calls it “Superman”- that’s just weird, right?) that our children must sometimes think they have 2 somewhat identical moms. The benefit is that when we see each other (even though it’s not nearly often enough, in my opinion), my absolutely perfect nephew warms right up to me and we spend every second of our time being the best of friends.
I love him more than words.
And a few images from his perfect first birthday party. Before you look at these, I should let you know that my sister is perhaps the most creative person on the face of this earth. She somehow manages to do about a bajillion things that I can only dream of accomplishing- look at these images and you will know what I mean. All handmade, all home cooked, and all beyond perfection. A bookworm theme that coordinates every single detail, from the tiny apples on the cupcakes, to the menu including delicious food with apples, right down to the bookworm glasses. A perfectly put together party, designed with nothing but love and adoration.
Happy Birthday N.M.B. We love you more than words and can’t wait to see you again in a few weeks. May every second of your birthday be as perfect as you are, in every way.
