After many (many) requests from you all, I am proud to announce the first round of digital photography classes!

Digital Photography & Digital Editing  – for current 6th-8th graders

Start date:  January 21st

Schedule:  Tuesday/Thursday  4:30-6:00 pm.  6 weeks.   Photography dates:  1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, 2/18, 2/25.  Photo editing dates:  1/23, 1/30, 2/6, 2/13, 2/20, 2/27.

Course Description:   Discover digital photography by taking photos during class on Tuesdays and editing them using Adobe software on Thursdays.  Explore composition, exposure, and digital editing to understand what photography is, and how to develop your own unique style.  By the end of the session you will have digital files and a printed portfolio to share.

Required:  Your own digital camera.   Computer with editing software will be provided, or you can bring your own.

Pricing details:  $180 for Tuesday (digital photography) OR Thursday (digital editing).  $315 for both.  $50 non refundable deposit is required to hold your spot.

Intro to Digital Photography  – for adults (18 and up)

Course dates:  January 18 (Intro to digital photography, including taking better photos with your iphone).  February 15th (Digital photography 2).  March 14th (Digital photography 3, intro to editing).

Schedule:  9 am-12 pm.

Course Description:   Let’s break away from relying on your camera’s automatic settings and begin to manually control each variable that makes a photograph work.  Learn how to control the various settings such as ISO, shutter speed, and aperture.  We will also touch on the use of lighting and how to take better photos with the camera on your phone.  By the end of each session you will have digital files to share.   You are not required to take all 3 classes – you choose the ones that best suit your needs and your schedule.

Required:  Your own DSLR camera.   Computer with editing software will be provided, or you can bring your own.

Pricing details:  $150 per class.  $400 for all 3 classes.   $50 non refundable deposit is required to hold your spot.   Classes are transferable to a photo session or to a friend if you are unable to attend.

Digital Photo Organization – for adults 21 and up

Course dates:  Wednesday, January 15th OR Wednesday, January 29th

Schedule:  7:30-9:30 pm

Course Description:   Do you have thousands and thousands of digital photos floating around and have no idea how to organize them?  If so, this is the workshop for you!  This 2 hour session will help you learn to transfer your photos from your phone to your computer, back up your photo collection, as well as provide you with some strategies to keep everything organized so you can find and use your favorite photos.

Required:  Your own DSLR camera.   Computer with editing software will be provided, or you can bring your own.

Pricing details:  $100 per class.  Wine and cheese are provided.   $50 non refundable deposit is required to hold your spot.   Classes are transferable to a photo session or to a friend if you are unable to attend.
