The process of a photoshoot goes beyond the time we spend together in the studio. There is pre-planning, the initial conversations of an idea, the excitement of a family get together and the decisions of what to wear! But after the lights go down, my work continues. I get to see the hundreds of photos I take per session, I relive the moments and look for the images that truly capture the essence of my clients. Every session and every client are special and unique, here are some highlights of the sessions I did in November of this year.
November Highlights
Getting a toddler to sit close enough to the newborn for sibling shots can be a challenge, but add in a pup too and this is basically a unicorn image.
Family is family, through thick and thin. This family has a special place in my heart.
I love every single session with these mamas and their little boy. This image though… can’t you just feel the love between them? I love capturing a shot of just parents, no kiddos, at each session.
I adore this one because it shows the beautiful chaos of time spent at home, right after bringing home a new addition.
Grandparent sessions are so very special. I enjoy capturing the love between grandparents and their grandbabies, and this one warms my heart.
This was absolutely the perfect image to end the session with. I love that as they walk away from me, little bro just throws me a look over his shoulder.
Obviously, this woman is simply stunning on the outside, but she is equally as gorgeous on the inside. We had so much fun with her headshots and they are really unique and represent who she is.
We captured a very similar image of big brother a few years ago. When he came into the studio for mom’s maternity session, and the image of his lips was one in the slideshow on my computer he said “look, mommy, those are my lips” and he was totally right! So obviously I had to capture a similar one of baby sis. This image is so special to me because it is an instant reminder of how lucky I am to continue to capture families over time and to watch them grow and change.
I use this image as a reminder that our families are never too old or too grown-up for a session. Look at the way Mom is looking up at her oldest. I bet it feels like yesterday she was snuggling him in her lap while he looked up at her. Happens in the blink of an eye, doesn’t it?
Such a happy in-home session and a great reminder that a session is perfect at any point in time. Even when the baby isn’t under 2 weeks old for that squishy newborn session, we can still capture wonderful, happy family memories.
I’ll be posting a compilation of photos on my blog every month, so check back every month or signup to receive them.
