This post is dedicated, in loving memory, to Berle Cohen.
I photographed Berle with his wife and beautiful grandchildren just a few weeks ago. It was a rainy (that’s an understatement), stormy day. Literally, the sky was almost black at 9 am. We were confined to using the couch, which was pulled up almost directly in front of the sliding glass door because the rest of the house had NO natural light. It was tempting, as a photographer, to say “forget it, let’s do this another day.” But, I sacrificed perfection in the quality of the images for memories that will last a lifetime. So, if you are looking for that perfect moment to have your family photographed, please don’t wait… today is that day.
And to Berle’s many family members and friends… you were blessed with years of knowing and loving this wonderful, kind, and funny man, although it never feels like long enough. I hope that you will always remember his smile, his laugh, and the joy that he brought to your lives.
