There is a unique beauty with in-home photo sessions. One that can’t be recreated. I am not saying that I don’t love my sessions that take place out and about, because I absolutely do, but there is a natural and relaxed comfort and joy that is inherently present during an in-home session. And please just look at the way baby girl smiles up at Dad… heart. melting.
When Mom approached me and said she wanted this almost 1 year old’s session to take place in her home, I was absolutely thrilled to make it happen. And, as you can see from the following images, we were able to create memories in multiple rooms, doing a variety of activities (including a cake smash and a dip in the backyard pool), and quite a few wardrobe changes- this can quite obviously be a challenge out of the home! So, in case you can’t tell, I am a huge fan of these in-home sessions… I feel like we were able to capture this family doing what they love to do, in a place they love to do it.
Once the weather drops (which I fear is coming soon), you most certainly do NOT have to wait until next spring for an outdoor session. Take a peek at some of these images. The black and white is just so classic and timeless and goes so well with this gorgeous and fun family.
I couldn’t possibly share all of these images in just black & white. There was way too much color and vibrancy present in this shoot… so here you go- a few more in color! I love when some of my favorite images take place in the most obscure places. That one of Mom down below holding baby girl, against that beautiful blue wall- in the shower!
Remember that cake smash I told you about? Here are a few of those images too!
Alright, if you are still with me, you can’t leave now… Here are just a few of the shots from the backyard pool. I love that Mom and Dad were totally game for throwing on suits and heading outside. And, while you absolutely don’t NEED a pool for your in-home session, I sure am glad they had one, because these are definitely some of my favs!
Thanks so much for choosing me to photograph your beautiful family! I hope baby girl had a happy 1st birthday celebration, and I can’t wait to continue to watch her grow!
