sneak peek: the perfect gift.

We had a great session and this beautiful family totally rolled with the punches- crazy fog, a giant deer in Mom’s tracks when she tried to get back to the car, and an almost necessary change of clothes.  Even with these minor setbacks, we got some beautiful images because these adorable kiddos followed Mom and...

sneak peek: the fog never bothered me anyway.

The weather called for rain.  Around noon, the skies cleared up and the bright sun shone for the rest of the day.  So, of course our session was a “go.”  However, driving to the session, the fog rolled in and the temperature dropped about 10 degrees within a matter of minutes.   We decided to give...

sneak peek: way. too. fast.

There are certain moments that I photograph that cause me to just stop in my tracks- tonight I experienced one of them.  You’ve seen this adorable family on the blog before… we have spent quite a few sessions together! Before my family moved to Champaign, I remember talking to Mom about the fact that when...

sneak peek: and so they grow.

I’ve said it many times before and have no problem saying it again… one of my favorite parts of photographing families is watching all of these kiddos grow over time.   It’s hard to believe it has been almost 2 years since I’ve seen this awesome family… and now this adorable little guy is a big...

seems like forever.

Ok, so it’s at the point of being slightly ridiculous… I am soooo behind on blogging sessions from LAST SUMMER AND FALL.   Feels like this last year has been a whirlwind- moving from Champaign to the Chicago area, unpacking, settling in, a schedule full of summer and fall sessions, being hugely pregnant, editing galleries, having...

Meet Jessie

evanston studio photographer 35

I love photography; I always have. I remember waiting anxiously at the drugstore so that I could rush home with my new pictures and carefully put them into frames and photo albums.

Even though 20 years have passed and digital cameras changed photography, my feelings and excitement are the same. I still race home after a shoot to look at every image and relive each moment of our session.

My goal is to combine the emotion that I feel with every click of the camera with your family as you actually are: smiling, laughing, even crying. I strive to find the true essence of who you are and capture these moments for you for a lifetime. Your family, as you are, smiling, laughing, even crying, but mainly just being yourselves.
