new spot.

Took my trio out to scout a new location.  I always love getting a few quick snaps before another school year begins (sniff, sniff).  Hard to believe that I have an incoming 2nd grader and an incoming kindergartener.  The 3rd is still a teeny, tiny baby, and don’t tell me otherwise.    Love the lighting in...

sneak peek: i’ve said it before.

I have definitely said it before, but I’ll say it again… one of my favorite parts of this fabulous job is watching families grow.   When I last saw this beautiful family (click here), there were four of them and now, as you will see, there are 5.  These girls were a joy to be around...

sneak peek: magical.

The session last night was one of those where everything just worked.   Holding a session at sunset, on a beautiful evening, at a super-crowded beach had complete potential to be a disaster.  It actually was anything but that.  I attribute a huge piece of that to the fact that Mom and Dad just rolled with...

seven? what?

It is you who made me a mother, for the first time.   You are the one who had every “first” carefully documented and recorded.   You did just what you were “supposed to do,” and you did it “when you were supposed to do it.”   You rolled over, got your first tooth, said your first words,...

sneak peek: seamlessly blending.

You probably remember 2 of these gorgeous faces as the Runner-ups in the 2014 photo of the year contest (click here to view)! You can also view some shots from their session when you  click here. Well, mom decided to use her FREE session (that’s right, she won a free mini-session for having one of...

Meet Jessie

evanston studio photographer 35

I love photography; I always have. I remember waiting anxiously at the drugstore so that I could rush home with my new pictures and carefully put them into frames and photo albums.

Even though 20 years have passed and digital cameras changed photography, my feelings and excitement are the same. I still race home after a shoot to look at every image and relive each moment of our session.

My goal is to combine the emotion that I feel with every click of the camera with your family as you actually are: smiling, laughing, even crying. I strive to find the true essence of who you are and capture these moments for you for a lifetime. Your family, as you are, smiling, laughing, even crying, but mainly just being yourselves.
