I am thankful.
Thankful for a tiny town.
A tiny town in Missouri.
In Missouri, where I have spent countless Thanksgivings.
Countless Thanksgivings with over 30 family members.
Over 30 family members who crowd into my grandparents house.
Crowd into my grandparents house and spend days doing nothing but spending quality time together.
Spending quality time together, laughing until we cry.
Laughing until we cry, and then laughing some more.
Laughing some more because each year adds new members of the family.
New members of the family who simply can’t believe how lucky they are to be surrounded by so much love.
Surrounded by so much love that they cry when they leave.
Cry when they leave because they have grown to love all of these people who have surrounded them for days.
Surrounded them for days in a tiny town in Missouri.
A tiny town in Missouri where we celebrate Thanksgiving every year and remember just how thankful we are to have each other.
Just as a side note, I am thankful for remembering to ask other people to pick up the camera this year too, so that my children can look back and know that I was actually there with them 🙂 And, for our “kid” line-up picture that we’ve done every year, for as long as I can remember. Photographically speaking, it’s an awful picture- blurry, eyes looking in all directions, etc but every year, this photo captures our family, as we are… being silly and having fun. As we continue to add new members each and every year, this family photo will always mean as much to me as that perfect image.
